Private Referrals and Health Fund Coverage

You are welcome to visit Applecross Chiropractic without a referral from a GP or medical professional.

There are no restrictions on the number of sessions you can attend as a private client, although Medicare rebates are not applicable.

Coverage for chiropractic services varies across health funds, so please check with your provider to understand your specific entitlements.

Medicare Chronic Disease Management Plan

If you are managing a chronic condition, your GP may include chiropractic care as part of a Chronic Disease Management Plan, allowing you to access up to 5 sessions with an allied health professional, including a chiropractor.

Eligibility is determined by your GP, so it’s important to book a longer consultation if you wish to explore this option. While a Medicare rebate is available, a gap fee typically applies.

Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA)

Veterans with DVA WHITE or GOLD cards are eligible for chiropractic services at no out-of-pocket cost, provided they have a referral from their GP. You can access up to 12 sessions per cycle. Please note that some restrictions may apply for holders of the DVA WHITE card. A DVA referral form from your GP or another medical professional will be required to access this service.

Workers’ Compensation and WorkCover

If you have been injured at work, chiropractic care may be part of your recovery plan under Workers’ Compensation or WorkCover schemes. Your GP can provide a referral for chiropractic sessions under this scheme.

Please note that you will need to pay the full consultation fee at the time of your appointment, and an invoice will be provided for you to lodge for a rebate.
